Other Ways to Help

There are many other ways to help the Vanderburgh Humane Society! See below for ideas.

With Your Social Media

Create a Facebook fundraiser for the VHS!

Or, add a Donation button to your Instagram Stories, selecting @vhslifesaver as the recipient!

With Your Car

Choose a Pet-Friendly License Plate next time you renew! Funds from this plate go to Pet Friendly Services of Indiana (formerly SNSI), a state organization that funds spay & neuter for low-income Hoosier pet owners. They also provide surgery reimbursement certificates for shelters, rescues, and feral cat TNR organizations statewide. The VHS accepts these low-income spay & neuter vouchers at our Clinic, and we also receive surgery reimbursement vouchers from Pet-Friendly Services every year. Your license plate can help us and hundreds of other agencies save lives and end pet overpopulation!

With Your Tummy

Stumped on where to grab lunch or dinner? VHS hosts a variety of give-backs at local restaurants every year. Keep an eye on our events page and on our social media for the latest give-back information before you decide where to eat!

With Your Old Stuff

Shoeboxes

VHS accepts shoeboxes for our shelter cats to use as “beds.” Everyone knows cats love boxes! Shoeboxes can be dropped off during General Business Hours Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm CST in the front lobby.

Gently-Used Towels, Blankets, Flat Sheets, and Washcloths

VHS accepts clean, non-ripped linens during General Business Hours Tuesday-Friday from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm CST in the front lobby. These are used for our shelter animals’ bedding, during bathing & cleaning in the Spay & Neuter Clinic, and in various other capacities.
