Community & National Partnerships




Vanderburgh Humane is a founding member of the Evansville Partnership for Animal Welfare (EPAW) formed in 2013. EPAW is an alliance dedicated to protecting animals in our community through advocacy and education cooperation.






Vanderburgh Humane is a proud member of the Humane Society of the United States' Shelter & Rescue Partner program. (Please note that we are not a "chapter" of HSUS. We are an independent organization.)



Animal Transfers

The VHS regularly transfers animals in (primarily dogs) from the following agencies as needed:

  • Evansville-Vanderburgh Animal Care & Control
  • Another Chance for Animals (Evansville, IN)
  • Warrick County Animal Control (Boonville, IN)
  • Posey Humane Society (Mt. Vernon, IN)
  • Hopkins County Humane Society (Madisonville, KY)
  • Crittenden County Animal Shelter (Marion, KY)

VHS regularly transfers animals out to the following agencies as needed:

  • Animal House Shelter (Huntley, IL)
  • The Anti-Cruelty Society (Chicago, IL)
  • Various breed-specific rescues

Spay & Neuter Partners

The Davidson-Rausch Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic works closely with Another Chance for Animals, Feline Fix, and My Ferals of Evansville to combat community cat overpopulation through trap-neuter-release. The Clinic provides spay/neuter surgeries and/or surgery transports for the following agencies:
