VHS Receives $30,000 from City of Evansville Endowment Fund

The Vanderburgh Humane Society was recently awarded a $30,000 grant from the Evansville Endowment Fund, a supporting organization of the Community Foundation Alliance! Funding is focused on capital projects for nonprofits serving within the City of Evansville. The Fund originated in 1994 when former Mayor Frank McDonald II proposed that $5 million of revenue from the gaming boat be invested in a way that would serve the City of Evansville forever.

Our $30,000 grant from 2025 will support the replacement of our 2 aging boilers that provide heat & hot water to our building. The total project cost is $110,000 so these funds made significant headway toward that goal. We're so grateful to the grant committee for selecting our proposal!
