Support the Ban of Declawing in Indiana

As we all know, declawing is an outdated and barbaric procedure that provides no medical benefit to cats. It is performed solely for human convenience. The United States is the only country where it is routinely performed and many outlaw it completely. (https://pawproject.org/about-declawing/declaw-surgery/) Here in the U.S., many states have already outlawed it, and we hope Indiana will soon join them!

We recently hosted a screening of "American Cats: The Good, the Bad, and the Cuddly." American Cats is a 2024 documentary, directed by Todd Bieber and hosted by comedian Amy Hoggart, investigates the controversial practice of cat declawing in the United States. What begins as a seemingly lighthearted exploration of cat culture quickly evolves into a hard-hitting exposé of a billion-dollar veterinary industry that profits from this inhumane procedure.

Indiana Representative Kyle Miller (D-82) is authoring a bill to end the cruel practice of cat declaw in Indiana. Learn more about cat declawing and The Paw Project by watching the documentary, and then download the flyer below to learn about how you can advocate for cats at the Statehouse this year.

Feel free to print and distribute copies of the flyer as well!
