Description: Hello, I'm Indy. My foster mom says that this name stands for "Independent," as I am a very independent girl. I love to have my head, face, and under my chin scratched...until I don't. I am not a fan of being picked up and carried and prefer to show off my swagger with my walk. I am front-paw declawed, litter box trained, and I am a beautiful blue/grey color with a short coat. My foster mom has had me for more than three months, and she says I'm turning into a wonderful girl. I am ignoring the two small dogs and another cat in the house, which is good. I likes to look out the window during the day and have now starting picking different rooms in which I would like to look out, so "Hey Lady, open the blinds, will ya?" There is another cat here and we tolerate one another. As can be seen in one of the pictures, we are laying on the cat tree together, but on different platforms. I like to hiss at him, but nothing more. Speaking of hissing, I am a fan of it. I'm all hiss and no bite. Sometimes I walk down the hallway and hiss at nothing, just to be certain that everyone knows I'm making an entrance. I like to look outside and start my day meowing at my foster to open the blinds in the morning and then close them when it's dark outside, because it's too cold with them open. Did I mention that I'm independent, which is cat code for "Do it now, Person." When working on the computer, I jump onto the desk and walk across the keyboard (note to close emails before I send them too early and also know how to change your computer back from a foreign language). I then sit on my foster mom's lap... and purr. I also really like music. There was some country playing on the Google Mini one day, and over I went to check it out. I got on Mom's bed EVEN THOUGH there was another cat there. Now, when she's on the computer and turns on some music (with lyrics), I will oftentimes move off of her lap and lay next to the speaker, with my hip touching it. Other times, I am visibly calmer with the music playing. We've had 40's, 50's, pop, country, and soundtracks, but 80's is my favorite. My mom said this about me: "Indy is truly a wonderful cat. We recently were cat-sitting for a week for "an interloper" and she took it in stride. No issues. She doesn't lay on the bed at night and doesn't like being picked up. She doesn't jump on my lap when I'm sitting in the living room, but she will jump on the cat tree and lay near me. Every day I see a change. Whereas she used to run and cower and hiss, she now runs in front of me and stops to make certain I'm following. She presses into my hands to pet her. She talks and she even purrs. I've had her with me for almost three months and the improvement is daily. I don't know what happened in this little girl's past, but she's had a lot to recover from. Give her a chance. If you are patient, you'll be very happy with what you receive in return."
