VHS Temporarily Closes Intake Department
10/11/2012 by: Kendall Paul
Now more than ever, the VHS could use your support.
In an effort to cut expenses and reorganize some staffing positions, the VHS closed our intake department a few weeks ago (during that time we have still taken in 70+ animals). When our intake department is down, it means that the city funded Evansville Animal Care and Control sees far more animals surrendered to them.
Our goal is to reopen the department in early November, but to do that we need the community to support our mission.
Both our Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic and our Adoption Department are functioning as normal (we still have 42 dogs, 20 small animals and 101 cats looking for homes).
We want the community to understand that as a non-profit organization that does NOT receive funding from any government agency or any national organization, we need you to help us care for local homeless animals.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation today.

Thank you for supporting the VHS.
