High School Community Service and Senior Project Hours

The holidays are over and many high school students are eager to volunteer at the VHS or host a fund raiser to benefit our animals. We appreciate their enthusiasm and desire and want to accomodate as many as possible.

The requirements for high school community service hours for the second semester are:

•Student must be 16 years old or older with valid picture ID
•Student must be willing to work
•Student must attend a scheduled orientation on January 24 or 25 at 4:30pm. The orientation will last approximately 2 1/2 hours.
•Student must volunteer 1 day a week for at least 2 hours from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Student can volunteer additional hours on Saturday or Sunday
•Student must complete and submit an application with signed release form before volunteering at the VHS (Students under 18 years old must have a release signed by a parent or guardian.) Applications will be given to students at the conclusion of the orientation

To accomodate all the students and to reserve a spot at an orientation, please email the volunteer coordinator at [email protected] with the following information: name, phone number, school, hours needed, teacher, teacher's contact information, and subject.


Senior Project Proposals

To have your Senior Project Proposal considered, please email the volunteer coordinator at [email protected] with the following information: Name, phone number, school, hours needed, teacher, and subject. Attach your proposal to the email. The volunteer coordinator will email you back with questions or to confirm that your proposal is accepted.

****All 2012 second semester project proposals must be submitted by February 17 at 5pm. No late proposals will be accepted.
