Spay & Neuter Clinic Information
The VHS Spay & Neuter Clinic has been open for almost 9 years now, and we've fixed over 53,000 animals. We are spaying and neutering dogs, cats, and rabbits Monday through Friday in our fight to end pet overpopulation.
Remember that cats can go into heat & get pregnant as young as 4 months old. Can you imagine your kitten having kittens?
Dogs can reproduce as young as 5 months old.
It's very difficult to sex young rabbits. Are you really sure that you have two males, or two females?
Spay & neuter is the ONLY proven, long-term solution to pet overpopulation. Guarantee that your pet will never be the cause for other animals dying in shelters!
Altering your pets also eliminates many pesky behaviors like fighting, spraying, and running away. It prevents them from getting uterine, ovarian, or testicular cancers later in life!
You do NOT have to live in Evansville or Vanderburgh County to use our services. There are no income requirements or weight limits!
Our fees are listed below:
Female dogs $70.00
Male dogs $60.00
Over 80 lbs. $25.00 additional
Female cats $50.00
Male cats $30.00
Feral cats (1 cat per trap)
(Includes rabies vaccine, ear tip, and FVRCP vaccine)
Bringing cats in your own personal traps is acceptable.
Trap rental is available for a refundable $60 cash deposit. If traps are kept longer than 2 weeks, $5 is taken out of the refundable deposit each week until the trap is returned.
Rabies vaccine $10.00 (required by law if not current)
24 Hour Pet Watch Microchip $25.00 (includes national registration)
Other vaccines are available, as well as Heartworm testing, FELV/FIV testing, nail trims, and more.
All services are available at the time of surgery.
To schedule an appointment, please call 812-426-2563 ext. 216. Please leave your name, phone number, email address, best time to call, type and sex of animal needing to be altered.
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Animals must be dropped off for surgery on their appointment date at 8 AM. Cats & rabbits must be in separate carriers and dogs must be on a leash. All animals over 4 months of age must have their food withheld after 9 PM the night before surgery. Pets will spend the night at the VHS Spay & Neuter Clinic and must be picked up the morning after surgery at 7:30 AM. We reserve the right to refuse service to sick animals to protect that animal and the health of other animals in our clinic.
